I havn't come across this before. Is this official? If so which countries?

"Keep doing this in remembrance of me" how often? There is no indication. Is it daily, weekly, monthly, annually or just when the spirit takes you? Well the answer is exactly on the dot of sunset. Whatever you do don't do it early, lets squeeze three congs one by one into the same hall, solemly shuffling bodies in and out of the hall, cars in and out of the carpark all to repeat the charade again and again.

Then comes, how many did you have? Oh we had ..... That is the real point of the whole thing. The lords evening snack.

Now the appointment of elders is separated from the branch, they can claim that these are congregation matters, nothing to do with them. i came across this lecture at 3am not being able to sleep by dan baker.

it details his transition from christian fundamentalist to atheist and the various shades in-between.

he realises that every denomination of christian can open the bible and prove to you that they have the right interpretation and everyone else is wrong.

July Study article about the Ministry

a nice recruitment training package is to be rolled out this weekend at meetings.

Hey. I sat in the meeting today thinking something similar. One thing I have learned about life is that everyone needs human contact. Everyone likes to talk, an act of kindness or human contact enriches. All that time I spent agonising about what to say to girls, the perfect line. Sometimes just hello will do.

What I am saying is that putting on an act just to impress people on the ministry is bollocks. If you want to be less lonely, enjoy life better just talk to people. Don't be too selective just be friendly and interested. Life will be better.

You are right Kate, just use the concept to make human contact. Just be careful though, the cult can remove the filters and alarm bells, protections others have built in. The universal truth remains though that people are attracted to warmth and kindness.

Need a Game Plan

i'm not sure what is going on at the convention, but i just got a desperate call from a friend wanting me to attend sunday's morning session.

last weekend, my mom invited me too.instead of saying something like, "i'm sorry, but i have no intention of going back," and having them completely freak out - i agreed to go to the sunday morning session.

any recommendations?

I think there is some emotionally manipulative sh*t that leaves every one in tears. The idea is to bypass all your cognitive centres, avoid any reasoning procees and go straight for the tear ducts. Avoid.

i hear it from the wt, from elders, from my parents and from jws in general.

Oh my life! I remember being young, indoctrinated and idealistic. I did the same thing myself. I cringe with embarrassment when I remember the occasion, even my very faithful wife mocked me.
